I use the tow haul/mode regularly and find it to be a great improvement compared to vehicles without tow/haul. Automatic downshifting to use the engine compression to limit the speed works well. Then I take it out of tow haul and go in to overdrive. When I'm in tow haul, the transmission has never shifted in to overdrive under any condition.
